Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school is required.
• Admission to any state bar is required.
• Candidates must have 2+ years of relevant experience in legal practice or higher education.
• Meaningful experience or potential in teaching, tutoring, or training is required.

Responsibilities

• Help prepare and provide instruction in academic success courses and workshops in University Park; focus on time management, outlining and exam prep.
• Counsel JD and LLM students one-on-one and in small groups to improve study and test-taking skills.
• Provide academic skills advising for University Park students under the Enhanced Academic Support Program.
• Oversee tutoring, coordinating with HR, student groups, and faculty to ensure equitable services.
• Support bar preparation courses by meeting with students, managing attendance, and grading assignments.
• Create and maintain a Web page with up-to-date bar exam information, resources, and practice questions.
• Oversee collection of bar exam results and draft the ABA Bar Questionnaire.
• Advise students on course selection and strategies to maximize the law school experience.
• Refer students to Academic & Student Services and counseling resources as needed.
• Attend occasional on- and off-campus events, travel between Carlisle and University Park locations.
