Madewell division under J.Crew Group seeks a creative designer to partner with Design Directors, developing color stories, fabrics, prints, and graphics for each season. You will prepare presentation boards, CAD artwork, and fabric samples while aligning with the product calendar.

Responsibilities include fittings with designers, supporting production to preserve design intent through production, and researching trends to inform classifications.

Qualifikationen

• 2-5 years design experience
• Apparel Design degree
• High taste level and creative ability
• Strong color sense
• Excellent presentation skills
• Team player
• Excellent written and communication skills
• Ability to adhere to deadlines and calendars
• Good follow through, proactive
• Knowledge of garment construction and fabric/trim
• Strong illustration skills and sketching ability
• Knowledge of lab dips
• Proficient in Illustrator, Photoshop, PLM, Microsoft Word and Excel

Aufgaben

• Form concepts with Design Directors and Senior Designer; select color stories; develop fabrics, prints, trim and graphics for each season.
• Prepare professional presentation boards with illustrations, CAD artwork, fabrication and garment samples.
• Research seasonal trends, color, materials and styling for classification.
• Execute seasonal line list and meet product development calendars.
• Work with Technical Design to ensure specs from concept to design cards.
• Conduct fittings with Senior Designer or Design Director.
• Collaborate with Production to maintain design concept through production.
