Job summary

Madewell, Inc. is seeking an Associate Designer for jewelry and soft accessories at our New York HQ. You will work with the design team to develop concepts, craft color stories, and prepare presentation boards with CAD artwork, materials, and samples.

The role requires 2–4 years of design experience in accessories, a relevant degree, and strong illustration and presentation skills. Proficiency in Illustrator/Photoshop and a collaborative, deadline-driven mindset are essential.

Qualifications

2-4 years design experience including accessories.
Apparel or Product Design degree.
High taste level and creative ability.
Strong color sense and illustration skills.
Excellent presentation and communication skills.
Team player with ability to meet deadlines.
Knowledge of garment construction and fabric/trim.
Proficient in Illustrator, Photoshop and MS Office.

Responsibilities

Work with manager to formulate concepts and color stories for each season.
Prepare boards with illustrations, CAD artwork, materials and samples.
Research seasonal trends, colors, and materials.
Execute seasonal line list and meet product development calendar.
Collaborate with Technical Design, Production and Merchandising to ensure specs and design vision.
Conduct fittings and CAD colorways for prints and patterns.
