Job summary

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina is seeking an Associate Counsel to support PBM services, including State Health Plan matters. You will work with pharmacy, compliance, operations, data, finance, and vendor teams to ensure contractual compliance and provide timely, legally sound guidance.

The role focuses on health plan operations, government programs, privacy, and data governance within a highly regulated PBM environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited law school required.
• 3+ years of experience in related field.
• Licensed to practice law.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain knowledge of PBM contracts and related legal requirements.
• Review PBM materials and provide legally supportable guidance to business partners.
• Advise on interpretation and application of PBM contractual requirements.
• Support administration of the State Health Plan PBM contract.
• Advise on privacy, data governance, and compliance obligations.
• Support PBM initiatives, governance, reporting, and vendor integrations.
• Assist with audits, regulatory requests, and protection of confidential information.
• Monitor regulatory developments affecting PBM and health plans.
