Responsibilities

  • Meet with assigned agents regularly and maintain complete, accurate booking data.
  • Enter and maintain client bookings, ensuring GAAP-compliant handling.
  • Prepare and follow up on outstanding invoices, confirm payment status with buyers.
  • Coordinate collection and processing of commissions and client payments.
  • Ensure timely payments in compliance with legal and tax requirements.
  • Act as liaison between clients, agents, and managers to resolve issues.
  • Handle inquiries about invoices, statements, debits, and payments.
  • Coordinate with other companies to finalize booking details and resolve discrepancies.
  • Provide regular reporting to managers to support forecasting and collections.
  • Collaborate with Cash Management to apply payments to correct bookings and accounts.

Job description

UTA seeks an experienced associate to join its Finance Client Accounting team. The Associate, Client Accounting, will be assigned to a UTA department and will serve as a point person for all accounting issues related to that department. This role will be responsible for working closely with agents and assistants to capture timely and accurate booking information in a GAAP-compliant accounting environment. This position is remote.

On a day-to-day basis, this role will entail reviewing new client bookings, modifying existing bookings as necessary to reflect updated performance dates, meeting with Agents/Assistants on a routine basis, and providing reporting to Agents to facilitate forecasting and collections. The Associate, Client Accounting, will establish and monitor quality metrics and continuously seek improvement in the process of tracking client bookings.

The salary range for this role is $72,500 to $75,000 commensurate with experience and skills.

What You Will Do
  • Meet with assigned agents regularly (2+ times per month) and their assistants weekly to ensure booking data and reports are complete and accurate.

  • Enter and maintain client bookings, reviewing data for accuracy and completeness while considering revenue recognition standards.

  • Prepare and follow up on outstanding invoices, working directly with buyers to confirm payment status and resolve delays.

  • Follow up with clients on commissions owed to the company and coordinate the collection and processing of those payments.

  • Ensure client payments are collected and processed promptly and accurately, in compliance with applicable legal and tax requirements.

  • Serve as a liaison between clients, agents, and managers, ensuring clear communication and timely resolution of accounting and payment matters.

  • Handle client accounting inquiries directly, including questions about invoices, statements, debits, commissions, payment status, etc.

  • Coordinate with counterparts at other companies as necessary to complete booking details and resolve billing or payment discrepancies.

  • Provide regular reporting to managers to support forecasting, collections, and insights into client performance.

  • Coordinate with the Cash Management team to ensure payments are applied to the correct bookings and accounts.

  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients, agents, managers, and other stakeholders.

  • Apply knowledge of accrual accounting, contract administration, and systems to identify opportunities to improve client booking, billing, and payment processes.

  • Build long-term relationships based on trust, responsiveness, and confidentiality.

  • Assist with ad hoc requests and other accounting-related projects as needed.

What You Will Need
  • Bachelor's degree required; degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.

  • Experience with financial & enterprise systems such as NetSuite preferred
