Job summary

Qualifications

• Three (3) years verifiable professional civil engineering work experience, including two (2) years at a level equivalent to or higher than the 5203 Assistant Civil Engineer.
• Possession of a Certificate of Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer in the State of California.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Reviews structural and architectural plans, calculations, and specifications for proposed construction or alterations to ensure code compliance.
• Prepares clear and detailed written review comments, technical reports, and status updates.
• Evaluates building permit applications for accuracy, determines scope, and assists with fee determinations.
• Reviews structural documents in enforcement actions and coordinates with inspection staff as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
