ASSOCIATE BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & APPLICATIONS SPECIALIST (Permanent) Our client, a global manufacturing organization headquartered in WNY, is looking to add an Associate Business Development/Applications Specialist to their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious candidate to combine technical expertise with strategic business development strategies in order to drive business.
Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain strategic professional relationships with OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, engine manufacturers, and defense and space sector customers within the aerospace field
- Develop creative account strategies focused on expanding market presence, increasing revenue, and supporting long-term business growth
- Pinpoint new business opportunities across commercial aerospace, defense, military, and programs
- Lead customer engagement activities, including business reviews, strategic planning sessions, and growth initiatives
- Partner with customers to understand complex technical requirements and application needs
- Analyze engineering drawings, specifications, and aerospace standards to recommend effective solutions
- Collaborate with various internal team members—Quality, Operations, Engineering, etc.—to support product evaluations, RFQs, and qualification efforts
- Provide ongoing technical and commercial support throughout product development, qualification, and production stages
- Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive activity within the aerospace, defense, and space markets
- Offer educated insights and recommendations to support business development and strategic decision-making
- Participate in the development of customer-focused value propositions, pricing strategies, and technical presentations
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure successful project execution and outstanding customer satisfaction
- Ensure up to date and accurate CRM reports, sales forecasts, opportunity pipelines, and program status reports are maintained
- Support key strategic initiatives that drive sustainable growth and strengthen the long-term success of the business unit as well as the organization
- Work well in a team environment as well as independently
- Other duties as assigned/as necessary
Details:
- Position is full-time, direct hire
- $ 70,000 - $95,000 annually depending on experience
- 3+ years’ experience in business development, account management, sales, applications engineering, etc.
- Aerospace, defense, or space industry experience is a plus
- Experience supporting Tier 1 or OEM customer programs is a plus
- Professional demeanor and ability to interact with employees and customers
- Great interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong organization skills, analytical, and time management skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Self-motivated
