Job Description

Candidates must reside in California.

We are looking for a full-time Associate Attorney to join our firm's practice in California. This position involves broad responsibilities related to consumer protection, including transactional and civil litigation matters. As our firm’s headquarters are in New York, this role requires communication with our main office via telephone and electronic means (email, Microsoft Teams, etc.).

• Maintaining and supervising a diversified caseload of clients in California.
• Communicating with clients regarding their matters.
• Drafting pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, reviewing & drafting agreements, etc.
• Communicating with opposing parties to resolve/settle claims.
• Conducting legal research on contract law and other consumer law issues.

Work Location

Remote – Candidates must be able to attend court in person and reside in California.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage a heavy and diverse caseload.
• Communicate effectively with clients and opposing parties.
• Draft legal documents and conduct legal research.

Qualifications

• Experience drafting legal documents such as pleadings and memoranda.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle a heavy workload.
• Must be admitted to practice law in California (multiple-state admission a plus).
• Minimum of 1 year relevant experience at a law firm.
• Legal research skills; proficiency in LexisNexis is a plus.
