Job description

Position Summary :

Represents PRA Group in litigation on consumer accounts and other legal proceedings involving the Company and its affiliates. Prepares and files legal documents, discovery materials, pleadings, and provides guidance to the Company’s attorneys in support of such activities.

Key Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned) :

  1. Litigates on behalf of the Company in Texas State Court (Dallas County) utilizing case management software Qlaw to manage a high volume caseload.
  2. Represents PRA in courts of law, collects facts and evidence, tries cases, and performs other litigation-related tasks.
  3. Responsible for accurate and timely case management by preparing legal documents, developing appropriate strategies, and making necessary arguments with defendants, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  4. Represents the Company at scheduling conferences, mediations, settlement conferences, depositions, hearings, and trials.
  5. Ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies across areas of organizational responsibility.

Professional Experience / Qualifications :

  1. Juris Doctor Degree Required
  2. Active member of the bar in Texas. Preference for multiple bar licenses or willingness to obtain additional licenses.
  3. 2+ years related experience and/or training or equivalent
  4. Prior litigation experience preparing and drafting pleadings, participating in all phases of the discovery process, and handling trials.
  5. Familiarity with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Truth-In-Lending Act, and other federal and state laws related to consumer credit and collections.
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to engage with stakeholders at multiple levels.
  7. Effective organizational, time-management, and interpersonal skills with high attention to detail.
  8. Ability to analyze multiple issues, provide sound legal judgment, and research statutes, case law, and regulations.
  9. Ability to provide accurate and practical legal advice in a timely manner.
  10. Ability to develop, improve, and standardize procedures.

Salary Range :

$75,000.00 - $115,000.00

The range provided is an estimate, and PRA Group reserves the right to adjust based on qualifications and location.
