Job summary

Qualifications

• Admitted to practice law and in good standing in Texas.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly motivated self-starter; eager to learn.
• Ability to manage and prioritize a large caseload.
• Be able to communicate in a common language with individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing.
• Be able to complete a minimum of a 40-hour flexible workweek.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with team members and outside parties.
• Draft, review, and file legal pleadings, motions, discovery, etc., in active litigation files.
• Review litigation case files to determine appropriate actions.
• Advocate for the client’s interests at hearings and trials.
• Utilize internal software to update and document account status.
• Analyze and process litigation inventory reports as assigned by the Managing Attorney.
• Comply with client and firm procedures.
• Travel to various courtrooms within the branch office footprint as required.
• Prepare for and represent clients at hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
• Negotiate settlements with consumers and their legal representatives.
• Evaluate case merits and provide strategic recommendations.
• Maintain compliance with laws and court procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
