Position Summary

The Associate Attorney will work full-time in our office, managing a personal injury caseload under the supervision and mentorship of senior attorneys. This position offers substantial opportunities for professional growth, client interaction, litigation experience, and increasing responsibility based on performance.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct legal research and analyze legal issues relevant to personal injury and civil litigation matters.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, settlement demands, mediation statements, and other legal documents.
  • Manage client communications and provide clear, practical legal advice regarding case status, strategy, and available options.
  • Gather, review, and analyze medical records, evidence, expert opinions, and other case materials.
  • Coordinate with medical providers, expert witnesses, investigators, and other professionals involved in case development.
  • Negotiate with insurance companies, defense counsel, and opposing parties to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Prepare cases for settlement conferences, mediations, arbitrations, and trial.
  • Attend hearings, depositions, court appearances, mediations, and other litigation proceedings.
  • Assist with trial preparation and presentation.
  • Maintain organized case files and manage multiple matters efficiently while meeting deadlines.
  • Uphold the firm's commitment to exceptional client service, professionalism, and ethical advocacy.
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active Utah law license or eligibility for prompt admission to practice in Utah.
  • Strong analytical, legal reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.
  • Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and effectively to clients.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professionalism, ethics, and client-centered representation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Prior experience in personal injury or civil litigation is preferred but not required.
  • Eagerness to learn, accept responsibility, and develop as a litigator.
