Job summary

Permobil is seeking an Associate Assembler 1 in Belleville to build and inspect mobility products in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will be trained within 30 days on the specific position, ensuring high-quality output and adherence to safety and work instructions. The role supports continuous improvement, cross-training, and teamwork across the assembly line.

Responsibilities

• Assemble products in the assembly department with high accuracy and quality.
• Identify non-conforming parts and tag for quality evaluation.
• Maintain 5S standards and department cleanliness.
• Rotate across positions as needed to support workflow and cross-training.
• Support continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives.

Your Role in Our Mission

• The purpose of this position is to assemble and ensure quality products are produced in the assembly department.This is a position with high variance in daily work and requires a high level of adaptability. This position will be trained on position within the assigned department within 30 days of hire.
• Essential job result 1: Must always perform at an acceptable quality and productivity level to meet established goals per work instructions.
• Essential job result 2: Must work in a safe manner and always follow company rules.
• Essential job result 3: Identify non-conforming parts and fill out tags and place any non-conforming parts in the red bins for quality evaluation.
• Secondary job result 1: Keep the department clean and help maintain 5S standards.
• Secondary job result 2: Maintaining a good attendance record to ensure team accomplishes related results.
• Secondary job result 3: Train when needed.
• Contributes to team effort by: Maintaining a good attendance record; accomplishing related results as needed; being cross trained on multiple positions to allow for rotating job duties as needed.
• Highlight cross-functional collaboration and ownership.
• Emphasize continuous improvement and efficiency.

What You’ll Bring

• Associate must be skill checked on 1 position within the assigned department within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to speak, read, and write clearly.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to use common sense to solve problems.
• Computer Operations: Very slight amount required with basic computer operation skills.
• Handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Good hand-eye coordination; ability to work under pressure quickly and accurately; ability to work primarily as a single unit but in cooperation with the team.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Strong problem-solving mindset.

Pay Transparency

The expected pay range for this role is $17.00 – $17.50 per hour . Final compensation will depend on factors such as experience, skills, and internal equity.
