Job summary

Permobil, Inc. is seeking an Associate Shipping Clerk in Belleville, IL. The role involves verifying and preparing orders for shipment, entering data into ERP, and maintaining shipping accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

You will support UPS/FedEx shipping, manage inventory of shipping supplies, and work with multiple departments to ensure timely delivery and high customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Accurately verifying and preparing orders for shipment using established procedures.
• Prepare and verify shipment orders and item quantities with special instructions.
• Enter shipment information in the ERP system and ensure accuracy to minimize errors.
• Maintain inventory by replenishing shipping supplies at the workstation daily.
• Operate machinery safely and report hazards; comply with safety and quality policies.
• Collaborate with other departments regarding orders, shipping options, charges, and transit times.

• Pay Range: $17.00 - $17.50 per hour

• Shift: 1st Shift

• Schedule: Full-time Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm (Must have the ability to work overtime hours.)

Your Role in Our Mission

• Accuratelyverifying and preparing orders for shipment by using the establishedprocedures of the shipping department to meet or exceed the expectations ofour customers.
• Supports shipping operations by: Preparingand verifying a shipment order (pick note order) and its item, quantity andspecial instruction information while producing a quick, efficient, and safework flow; ensuring that any errors are caught and reported to customer care,warehouse department, assistant team leader, and/or manager.
• Maintains quality service by: Processingoutgoing time sensitive shipments using UPS, FedEx and ERP system; accuratelyentering information in the appropriate shipment software; scanning theproduct and labeling the shipment appropriately; keeping error rates minimaland within acceptable ranges; maintaining an efficient work pace; meeting andexceeding all performance measurements: quantity, accuracy, timeliness, andthoroughness of work performed.
• Maintains inventory by: Replenish supply ofshipping boxes, copy paper, etc. at workstation on a daily basis.
• Maintains safe and clean workenvironment by: Operatingall machinery in a safe and efficient manner; reporting any safety hazards toassigned supervisor or safety manager; compliance with all safety and qualitypolicies, practices and procedures.
• Contributes to team effort by: Communicatingwith other departments concerning orders, shipping options, charges, andtransit times as requested in a knowledgeable manner; maintaining a goodattendance record; proactively assisting international and inventory andaccomplishing related results as needed.

What You'll Bring

• HighSchool diploma or GED required and one to three months related experiencerequired.
• Ability to read and comprehendsimple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simplecorrespondence. Ability to effectivelypresent information in one on one and small group situations to customers,clients, and/or other employees of the organization.
• Ability to apply common senseunderstanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, ordiagram form. Ability to deal withproblems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Basic personal computerskills. (Turn computer on and run oneor two programs that are company specific and only require data entry skills).
• Tools and Equipment: Utility knife; computer; tape machine; bander; bar codescanner; photocopier; stapler; hand truck; flat carts; pallet jack; fork lift(if certified); order picker; dock plate.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Strong problem-solving mindset.

Pay Transparency

The expected pay range for this role is $17.00 - $17.50 per hour. Final compensation will depend on factors such as experience, skills, and internal equity.
