Job summary

ORIX USA Group in Irvine, CA is seeking an Associate to support the origination, screening, structuring, underwriting, and execution of affordable multifamily financing opportunities on Lument’s platform. The role emphasizes financial modeling, due diligence, and collaboration across teams in a fast-paced setting.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of affordable housing finance experience and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, real estate, or a related field; strong academic record required.
• 3–5 years of relevant affordable housing/finance experience preferred; other related experience considered.
• Experience with LIHTC, tax-exempt bonds, or structured real estate financing preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel; Word and PowerPoint proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain knowledge of affordable housing finance products, policies, and underwriting guidelines.
• Support origination, evaluation, structuring, and execution of multifamily financing opportunities.
• Analyze cash flows, rent rolls, budgets, and financial statements to support credit decisions.
• Prepare financial models for construction and permanent financing, including debt sizing and repayment mechanics.
• Assist in drafting proposals, term sheets, and investor presentations; review documents for consistency with approved terms.
