Associate Advanced Manufacturing Engineer

Allegion is seeking an Associate Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to support our Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) team in improving manufacturing processes, equipment, and capital projects across our North American facilities. In this role, you'll take on assigned projects with guidance from experienced AME engineers - supporting process improvements, equipment and automation upgrades, and new product introductions - while building your knowledge of Allegion's processes, products, and customers. Opportunities for personal development exist in electro-mechanical products, fabrication/machining (e.g., sheet metal, welding, machining), and electroplating/surface finishing operations (e.g., chrome, paint, powder coating), as well as many other areas of expertise. Through partnering with subject matter experts, growth is a focus area for this role. We're looking for a curious, well-rounded engineer who is eager to learn and make a difference.

Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. The company does not intend to provide sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B, TN, etc.) for this employment position.

At Allegion, we are driven by a bold vision: redefining safety while empowering our employees to thrive. When you join our team, you become part of a culture that values innovation, purpose, and excellence. This role offers the benefits of our dynamic hybrid work model-combining in-person collaboration for meaningful moments with the flexibility of remote work. Since hybrid arrangements can vary based on the needs of the individual, team and business, your talent acquisition partner will provide specific hybrid details about this role.

We are committed to fostering a healthy work-life balance and building meaningful connections, ensuring you have the tools, resources, and support needed to excel in any environment. Together, we'll unlock your potential and create a lasting impact.

While this is the current structure and we currently have no plans to change, we reserve the right to make changes to the hybrid schedule as needed at the Company's discretion.

Hybrid Role Details: This role is based at our Carmel, IN facility. Time will be split between office, onsite manufacturing floor, and remote work as business and project needs require.
What You Will Do:
  • Support manufacturing process improvement initiatives on assigned production lines, applying structured problem-solving methods (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, root cause analysis) to improve safety, quality, and throughput
  • Collect and analyze production data (e.g., cycle time, scrap, OEE) to baseline performance and measure the impact of improvements
  • Assist in developing and implementing fabrication and assembly processes with automation, controls, and digitization improvements (e.g., PLC-controlled equipment, MES/data collection tools), in partnership with automation and controls specialists
  • Support capital projects - from scoping through installation, qualification, and ramp-up - for equipment, tooling, and process upgrades, escalating risks or resource needs as appropriate
  • Contribute to new product introduction (NPI) efforts by participating in design-for-manufacturability (DFM) reviews and providing manufacturability feedback to product design teams
  • Research and benchmark manufacturing technologies and processes, sharing findings and recommendations with the AME team
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Operations, Quality, Procurement, Product Engineering) to resolve manufacturing issues and support facility-level initiatives
  • Document processes, standard work, layouts, and project outcomes to support knowledge sharing across the AME team
  • 10-15% travel may be required
What You Need to Succeed
  • Ability to execute assigned work and deliver to milestones, seeking guidance when needed
  • Foundational knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or root cause problem-solving methods, with the ability to apply them to standard problems
  • Data analysis skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Working knowledge of CAD tools (AutoCAD, Creo, or SolidWorks) for layout, tooling, or design support
  • Awareness of manufacturing safety practices and OS
