Job summary

Cherokee Federal is seeking an Assistive Technology Specialist to provide technical expertise, demonstrations, and coordination for assistive technology used by Department employees with disabilities in Washington, DC. The role supports OAA Accessibility Division and DRAD, identifying and evaluating solutions, and guiding procurement through established processes.

Active Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in assistive technology, accessibility, information technology, rehabilitation technology, disability services, or a related field required.
• Experience conducting assistive technology demonstrations, presentations, training sessions, workshops, or similar educational activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistive technology consultation and technical support for reasonable accommodation cases referred to by authorized Department personnel.
• Meet with employees to understand accessibility barriers and document requirements.
• Research and evaluate assistive technology solutions and provide recommendations.
• Present and demonstrate potential assistive technology solutions and facilitate hands-on evaluation.
• Conduct workshops, product demonstrations, and comparative evaluations.
• Prepare documentation to support Government procurement of assistive technology.
