Job summary

Monmouth University in West Long Branch, NJ is seeking two Assistant Women's Rowing Coaches to assist the Head Coach in administering all phases of a competitive Division I intercollegiate program on campus.

This on-site position requires a Bachelor's degree, prior coaching experience, knowledge of NCAA rules, CPR and NCAA recruiting certification within six months, and the ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Prior coaching experience is required.
• NCAA rules knowledge is required.
• CPR and NCAA recruiting certification must be attained within six months from date of hire.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as necessary.
• Valid driver's license with clean record per university policy.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Coach in administering all phases of a Division I intercollegiate women's rowing program in compliance with NCAA, CAA, and Monmouth University rules.
• Organize recruitment of prospective student-athletes, academic support, training, and event planning.
• Provide communication and public relations support for the program.
• Create summer programs and assist with community service activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Adhere to Athletics and University policies and regulations affecting University Athletics.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Organize the successful identification and recruitment ofprospective student-athletes, academic support, skill instruction,including practice, training and event planning and execution, andprimary supervision of the program.
• Perform communication and public relations responsibilities.
• Create summer programs and assist with community service activities.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Responsible for adhering to policies and procedures governingthe Department of Athletics and the University and any applicable rules and regulations associated with the National CollegiateAthletics Association (NCAA), the Coastal Athletic Association(CAA) or any other conference or organization with which theUniversity is or becomes associated with which affects UniversityAthletics.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree.
• Prior coaching experience.
• Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
• CPR and NCAA recruiting certification must be attained within six months from date of hire.
• Ability to work evening and weekend hours and travel as necessary.
• Must have an understanding of the University's concern for academics as well as athletic excellence.
• A valid driver's license in your state of residence and have had no serious violations (Type A) within the past five (5) years and no more than three (3) moving violations (Type B) in the past three (3) years. University Policy found here: Monmouth University VehicleUse Policy.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
• Must be able to treat confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
• Must be able to operate a variety of office equipment.
• Basic Knowledge of MS Word and Excel 2016

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience coaching at the NCAA Division I level or provensuccessful high school, club, collegiate or elite rowing coachingexperience.
• Previous trailer driving experience is a plus.
• Previous experience recruiting at the collegiate level.
