Job summary

GEODIS is seeking an Assistant Operations Manager to oversee receiving, storing, and distributing materials in a cross dock environment. The role requires coordinating warehousing, leading Team Leaders and Supervisors, and ensuring safe, efficient operations for key accounts.

You will interact with customers and industry partners to promote improved services, manage costs, and drive profitability across facilities. Hybrid schedule with in-office presence four days per week and one remote day.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education.
• PC proficiency to include Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates distribution and warehousing in a cross dock operation.
• Confers with customers and representatives of associated industries to evaluate and promote improved and expanded services in the area.
• Develops plans for efficient use of materials, equipment, and employees.
• Reviews costs and makes changes/recommendations to maintain and enhance profitable operation of divisions.
• Participates in marketing and sales efforts, ensuring facilities have resources to meet company goals and P&L responsibilities.
• Supervises warehouse positions including Team Leaders and Operations Supervisors.
• Reports food safety problems for food accounts to the appropriate authority.

Position Summary:

• Supervises several warehouse positions to include Team Leaders and Operations Supervisor
• For food accounts, incumbent is responsible to report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
