GEODIS in Buford, GA is seeking an Assistant Warehouse Operations Manager for Final Mile. The role focuses on receiving, storing, and distributing materials, tools, equipment, and products within a cross dock setting.

You will coordinate warehousing activities, interact with customers, and develop efficient plans for resources while overseeing Team Leaders and Supervisors. This position supports P&L and continuous service improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of related experience and/or training.
• PC proficiency including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual.

• Confers with customers and industry representatives to evaluate and promote improved and expanded services.
• Develops plans for efficient use of materials, equipment, and employees.
• Reviews costs and makes changes to maintain profitable operation of divisions.
• Participates in marketing and sales efforts to meet company goals and P&L responsibilities.
• Supervises warehouse positions including Team Leaders and Operations Supervisors.
• Reports food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action for food accounts.

Position Summary:

The Assistant Operations Manager is responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing material, tools,

equipment, and products.

Your role on the team:

• Coordinates distribution and warehousing in a cross dock operation
• Confers with customers and representatives of associated industries to evaluate and promote

improved and expanded services in the area

• Develops plans for efficient use of materials, equipment, and employees
• Reviews costs and making changes/recommendations to maintain and enhance profitable operation of divisions
• Develops plans for efficient use of materials, equipment, and employees
• Participates in marketing and sales efforts, ensuring assigned facilities have the resources necessary to meet company goals and objectives, as well as P&L responsibilities
• Supervises several warehouse positions to include Team Leaders and Operations Supervisor
• For food accounts, incumbent is responsible to report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.

What you need:

• Minimum 3 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education

• PC proficiency to include Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
