Job summary

Montgomery Public Schools is seeking an Assistant Baseball Coach (Temporary) to support the head coach by teaching the rules, techniques, and drills, and to help with game-day decisions.

The position requires a valid Alabama teaching certificate or equivalent qualifications, a willingness to obtain CDL, and a commitment to district guidelines. Salary is prorated based on contract days remaining.

Qualifications

• Current Alabama Teacher’s Certification (preferred) or classified depending on qualifications
• Previous experience in sports as a participant and/or coach (preferred) but not required
• Completion of all requirements set forth by the AHSAA Coaches’ Education Program
• Must have or be willing to obtain CDL

• Assist with determining game strategy
• Assist head coach with supervising athletes during practices and competition
• Ensure all athletic activities conform to AHSAA guidelines

SPECIAL NOTE: The person selected for this position must agree to a background check, be fingerprinted, and pay a $46.20 fee. This is required by law.

SPECIAL NOTE: For employees starting work after the beginning date of the work term, the salary will be pro-rated and based on the number of contract days left in the school year, divided by the remaining months in the contract year.
