Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Akron, OH is seeking an Assistant Telecommunications Engineer to support diverse utility projects, including SCADA, distribution automation, cyber security, microwave, wireless networks, fiber, and smart grid.

You will assist in designing networks, producing BOMs, specifications, layouts, and wiring diagrams, and help execute complex tasks using advanced tools. EIT certification and ABET accreditation are preferred qualifications for new grads.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical and/or computer engineering or related field from an accredited program; ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Engineers in Training (EIT) certification preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing telecommunications networks per client standards or new standards.
• Support project deliverables such as BOMs, specs, layouts, wiring diagrams, and SCADA-related documents.
• Contribute to complex assignments using advanced tools to develop improved processes or methods.
• Identify and help resolve issues on projects and ensure adherence to QA/QC guidelines.
