Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Assistant Telecommunications Engineer in Atlanta, GA to support complex utility projects including SCADA, distribution automation, cybersecurity, microwave, wireless, fiber, and smart grid initiatives.

You will assist in network design, project deliverables, and execution of assignments using advanced tools while adhering to schedules and QA/QC standards. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential; EIT and GPA 3.0+ preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, computer or related engineering from an ABET-accredited program is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Apply intensive and diversified knowledge to broad areas of assignments.
• Ability to devise new approaches to problems encountered.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
• Campus or community involvement preferred.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the country of the position.
• Engineering in Training (EIT) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing telecommunications networks using client standards or new standards.
• Assist with project deliverables such as BOMs, wiring diagrams, equipment plans, and network diagrams.
• Assist in execution of complex assignments using advanced tools and techniques.
• Identify and help resolve issues to keep projects on track.
• Adhere to project schedules to meet deadlines.
• Work with project team to ensure client satisfaction and QA/QC guidelines.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
