Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Minneapolis, MN, seeks an Assistant Telecommunications Engineer to assist on complex utility projects including SCADA, cyber security, microwave, wireless, fiber, and smart grid initiatives. Responsibilities cover network design support, BOMs, diagrams, and coordination with the project team.

Requirements include a B.S. in electrical/computer engineering, ABET preference, and strong communication and analytical skills; EIT preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering or related field required.
ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to apply intensive and diversified knowledge to broad areas of assignments.
EIT Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist in designing telecommunications networks utilizing client standards or developing new standards.
Assist with project deliverables such as bill of materials, specifications, drawings, and wiring diagrams.
Assist in execution of complex assignments using advanced tools and techniques to develop new or improved processes or methods.
Identify, communicate and assist in resolving issues on projects as needed.
Adhere to project schedules to meet deadlines and maintain QA/QC guidelines.
Collaborate with project team to ensure client satisfaction and project success.
Perform other duties as assigned.
