Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Conshohocken, PA seeks an Assistant Telecommunications Engineer to support a variety of utility projects, including SCADA, distribution automation, cyber security, microwave radio, wireless networks, fiber optics, and smart grid initiatives.

You will assist with network design, BOMs, diagrams, equipment plans and channel layouts, work closely with the project team to ensure client satisfaction, and help meet QA/QC standards on schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering or related field required.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Capable of applying intensive and diversified knowledge to broad areas of assignments.
• EIT certification preferred.
• GPA 3.0 strongly preferred.
• Eligible to work legally in the United States for this position.

Responsibilities

• Design telecommunications networks using client standards or developing new standards.
• Prepare project deliverables: BOMs, specifications, yard layouts, equipment plans, wiring diagrams, channel plans, etc.
• Assist in executing complex assignments with advanced tools to develop new processes or methods.
• Identify and resolve project issues as needed.
• Adhere to established project schedules to meet deadlines.
• Collaborate with the project team to ensure client satisfaction and QA/QC compliance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
