Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Assistant Telecommunications Engineer to support a range of utility projects including SCADA, distribution automation, cyber security, microwave, wireless networks, fiber optics and smart grid. The role focuses on design support, deliverables, and collaboration with project teams to meet client requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in electrical, computer or related engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Strong written and verbal communication and analytical skills.
• Ability to apply knowledge to broad assignments and devise new approaches.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing telecommunications networks per client standards or new standards.
• Support deliverables: BOMs, specs, layouts, diagrams, and cable lists.
• Help execute complex tasks and improve processes and methods.
• Identify and help resolve project issues; adhere to schedules and QA/QC guidelines.
• Collaborate with the project team to ensure client satisfaction.
