Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Staff Telecommunications Engineer to support complex utility projects including SCADA, distribution automation, cyber security, microwave, wireless networks, fiber, and smart grid. You will design telecom networks, develop BOMs and wiring diagrams, and assist with proposal preparation.

The role requires an ABET-accredited engineering degree and 3 years of telecom project experience, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, computer, or related engineering field from an ABET-accredited program.
• 3 years of utility telecommunications project experience; consulting experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support design of telecommunications networks per client standards or new standards.
• Develop deliverables: BOMs, specs, yard layouts, wiring diagrams, and RF path studies.
• Assist in QA/QC and ensure client satisfaction and on-time deliverables.
• Provide guidance to less experienced staff and coordinate with project manager on schedule.
