Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) is seeking an assistant teacher to support K-12 students with special needs in in-district classrooms and standalone schools. You will work with teachers to deliver individualized services and monitor progress.

You will assist with small-group instruction, communicate with families, and help implement SESI’s PBIS framework CASE. The role offers growth, paid training, and credentialing support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college experience or bachelor’s degree highly preferred.
• Experience working with students with special needs in an educational setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with a diverse group of students from varying backgrounds.
• Lead small group instruction as you implement SESI’s academic rotational model.
• Partner with the teacher in providing customized behavior and academic support and conducting assessments.
• Reinforce learning by assigning tasks, using data to select materials, and conducting one-on-one tutorials.
• Assist with large group activities, grading, and providing accommodations and modifications as needed.
• Utilize behavior support strategies and implement de-escalation techniques when required.
• Support daily plans and track student growth toward goals.
• Supervise students and coordinate with other staff to meet student needs.
