Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) is seeking an assistant teacher to support a lead teacher in delivering individualized services to small groups of students with diverse needs. You will monitor progress, communicate with families, and reinforce skills using SESI’s educational model.

You will collaborate with staff to implement CASE PBIS frameworks, ensure accommodations, and help create a positive, inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college experience or bachelor’s degree highly preferred.
• Experience working with students with special needs in an educational setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with a diverse group of students from varying backgrounds.
• Lead small group instruction implementing SESI’s academic rotational model.
• Partner with the teacher to provide customized behavior and academic support and conduct assessments.
• Reinforce learning by assigning tasks and using data to guide materials.
• Assist the teacher with large group activities, grading, and independent work.
• Utilize behavior support and intervention strategies and crisis management when needed.
• Support daily plans and track student growth toward goals.
• Supervise students and ensure safety during transit between locations.
• Collaborate with other teachers and service providers to address student needs.
