Save the Children in North Carolina seeks an Assistant Teacher to support preschool classrooms within Head Start programs. You will assist the Teacher in daily operations, promoting social-emotional, physical, and cognitive growth, and help build strong partnerships with families while ensuring high-quality instruction.

The role requires a CDA or state certificate (or active enrollment to complete within two years), professional English proficiency, and collaborative teamwork to meet Head Start

Qualifikationen

• Professional proficiency in spoken and written English
• Demonstrated interpersonal, communication and organizational skills; ability to follow directions and take initiative
• Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate with diverse individuals and teams
• Proven ability to maintain confidentiality of family information
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and online client management systems
• Participation in required professional development including basic first aid and pediatric CPR as per state licensing

Aufgaben

• Engage with children and supervise learning activities indoors and outdoors
• Assist Head Start Teacher in daily classroom operations
• Support family partnerships and home activities
• Contribute to safety and compliance with Head Start Performance Standards
• Attend staff meetings and trainings
• Lead in the absence of a teacher
• Record keeping and documentation of observations and screenings
