Job summary

SilkRoad in Twin Falls, ID is seeking an Assistant Teacher to work with the Lead Teacher to deliver Head Start/Early Head Start services following NAEYC guidelines and the High/Scope curriculum.

You will assist in record-keeping, classroom responsibilities, and training of staff and volunteers, ensuring an inviting, nurturing environment that reflects the local community. The position requires an associate degree in ECE and one year of preschool experience.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate verbally.
• Ability to communicate in writing.
• Complete criminal record check from Department of Health & Welfare’s Criminal History Unit prior to consideration for hire.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Lead Teacher to ensure classroom services align with Head Start/Early Head Start standards.
• Share in record keeping, classroom responsibilities and design per High/Scope Curriculum.
• Assist in supervising and training direct service staff and volunteers in the classroom.
• Observe and document developmental progress and create individualized plans for enrolled children.
• Set up classroom schedules and activities reflecting cultural diversity of local community.
• Recruit, train and support parent and community volunteers.
• Communicate child progress and challenges to parents.
