Job summary

SilkRoad is seeking a Lead Teacher for Head Start/Early Head Start in Idaho. You will oversee classroom activities, ensure health and safety, and coordinate family and community engagement within your unit.

Responsibilities include implementing High/Scope with NAEYC guidelines, conducting home visits and conferences, supervising assistant staff, and collaborating with specialists to deliver comprehensive services.

Qualifications

• Associate degree is required; bachelor’s preferred in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• Experience supervising paraprofessional staff and volunteers providing health information and referrals.
• Knowledge of HighScope curriculum and Head Start/Early Head Start guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead classroom activities and supervise students to ensure health and safety.
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate preschool activities.
• Coordinate with family services and community partners to support enrolled children.
• Supervise assistant teachers and volunteers, providing training and evaluation.
• Maintain documentation and participate in meetings related to IEPs and health services.
• Engage families through home visits and conferences to support child development.
