Job summary

Regional Economic Community Action Program Inc is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in planning and delivering a developmentally appropriate early childhood program. You will assist with curriculum implementation, family engagement, and collaborative lesson planning in a Head Start setting.

The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to program standards, and contributing to a safe, inclusive classroom that promotes school readiness and family partnerships.

Qualifications

• Must have at least a CDA credential, be enrolled in a program leading to an associate or bachelor’s degree, or be enrolled in a CDA credential program to be completed within two years.
• Ability to work effectively with preschool-aged children and families.
• Ability to participate effectively in a team-teaching environment and maintain confidentiality.
• Maintain current CPR and First Aid certification when required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing the written curriculum and developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
• Assist in developing weekly lesson plans and ensure they are posted for parents and visitors.
• Support individual learning needs with development goals and child outcomes.
• Collaborate with families, staff, and program partners to create a safe, nurturing classroom environment.
• Participate in staff meetings and required professional development.
