Job summary

Union County Community Action, Inc. in Monroe, NC seeks an Assistant Teacher / Bus Driver to support our preschool classrooms and supervise children on and off the bus.

You will build meaningful relationships with children and families while ensuring safety and learning opportunities every day. This position offers a Monday–Friday schedule from 6:45am to 2:45pm, full-time hours, and competitive benefits including PSLF eligibility, medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, 401(k),

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with CDA; six months to one year of related experience preferred.
• Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Development preferred; six months to one year of related experience.
• EDU 119 required.
• CDL license or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
• CPR and First Aid certification required or ability to obtain.
• Valid driver’s license required.

• Assist teachers with classroom activities and lesson plans.
• Support children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development.
• Maintain classroom documentation and records.
• Supervise children in classroom and outdoor settings.
• Assist with transportation by driving or monitoring buses.

Union County Community Action, Inc. (UCCA) is seeking a caring, dependable professional to support our preschool classrooms while also assisting with the safe transportation of children to and from school. Starting Rate: Up to $18.50 per hour

Schedule: Monday–Friday 6:45am-2:45pm (40 hours/week)

• Assistant Teacher/ Bus Driver II: Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Development or related field preferred. Six months to one year of related experience preferred
• EDU 119 required
• CDL required or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment
• CPR and First Aid certification required or ability to obtainMust pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening and TB test, and must submit to random drug screenings.
• Valid driver’s license required

Physical Requirements

Must be able to actively supervise young children in classroom and outdoor environments, assist children on and off the bus, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
