Job summary

Sesame Place in Chula Vista, CA is seeking enthusiastic Ambassadors to deliver outstanding guest service and help create memorable experiences. You will assist guests with menus, operate registers, and help maintain clean, safe food service areas.

This part-time role requires the ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs. You will supervise and train ambassadors, enforce park policies, and participate in food preparation and portioning according to recipes.

Qualifications

• One to three months of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Successfully pass ServSafe exam prior to starting.
• Able to pass Alcohol training upon selection.
• Able to pass Food Handlers test and maintain valid Food Handlers card.
• Strong written/verbal communication skills.
• Able to frequently lift/move up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation.
• Able stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Able to regularly use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, handle, feel, stoop, crawl or kneel.
• Able to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast paced environment.
• Able to work indoors and in outside weather conditions (i.e., sunny, wet and/or humid conditions).
• Strong written/verbal communication skills; able to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Provide and lead team to deliver superior guest service.
• Regularly keep ambassadors motivated and energized.
• Open and close facilities according to procedures.
• Provide menu and park information to guests.
• Monitor equipment and report problems to proper personnel.
• Ensure meal and rest periods are provided to ambassadors as required by policy.
• Set up and monitor queue lines.
• Record moneybag recaps and complete station task lists.
• Monitor stations to ensure food looks pleasing and is portioned to recipes.
• Monitor temperature of food and equipment according to HACCP plan and take action as needed.
• Supervise and train ambassadors; authorize ambassador over-rings.
• Monitor food waste and educate ambassadors on waste procedures.
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities per policies and laws.
• Represent the park with a positive attitude and high energy.
• Prepare and serve food for park guests.
• Clean facilities, operate kitchen equipment and cash registers; assist with training and supervision of ambassadors.
• Ensure excellent guest service by responding to guest requirements, expectations and needs.
• Other duties as assigned; assist other locations and areas as needed.

Availability and Hours:

This is a part-time role During the non-peak season, must be available both Saturday & Sunday During the peak season, must have 5 days of unrestricted availability, to include the weekends You must be able to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays Hours vary based on business need; may be scheduled 0-29 hours weekly.

Compensation:

17.50 USD Hourly Starting Base Pay: 17.50
