Job summary

Ryan Companies US, Inc. in Atlanta, GA is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to coordinate the work of Ryan employees, subcontractors, and project management on the jobsite to complete projects on time and on budget.

You will read blueprints, manage safety programs, track the CPM schedule, monitor the budget portion for your work, supervise trades, assist with procurement, and enforce the site safety manual to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and subsequent random and post-accident drug and alcohol testing.
• Successful completion of union-required training programs, or equivalent.
• Problem-solving abilities.
• Valid documentation.
• Show leadership skills.
• Ability to make sound decisions.
• Must be able to remain calm during stressful situations and work through any challenges or issues that may arise.
• Must be able to know when to ask for help when a job task exceeds their skills or abilities.

Responsibilities

• Administer project safety per Ryan safety policies and procedures and develop a job specific Job Safety/Hazard Analysis for their portion of work.
• Manage subcontractors in the performance of their work.
• Develop and understand a CPM computer-generated schedule and be able to track that schedule.
• Understand the entire construction budget and work within their portion of the budget for their work.
• Read and comprehend blueprints, plans and specifications in order to give proper direction to project personnel.
• Assist with material procurement.
• Work efficiently and independently.
• Enforce site specific Project Safety Manual.
• Engage in Quality Control practices.
