Job summary

NC Department of Adult Correction is seeking an experienced Correctional Asst Supt for Programs II (NS) to manage Warren Correctional Institution’s program services. The role includes overseeing case management, religious services, treatment and rehabilitation programs, and volunteer and transitional services.

The incumbent will supervise both direct and indirect staff, coordinate resources, and ensure compliance with department policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of supervisory or management level experience.
• Experience working as a Correctional Program Director or higher preferred.
• Criminal Justice standards and related requirements must be met.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for a wide range of facility programs including classification, chaplaincy, recreation, transitional services, work assignments, and educational opportunities.
• Supervise direct and indirect staff, manage recruitment and performance processes, coordinate resources, and ensure compliance with manuals and policies.
• Maintain offender schedules, oversee daily activities, ensure implementation of programming and evidence-based practices, and conduct audits to maintain standards.
• Direct offender classification processes and ensure policy-compliant decisions relating to custody levels and transfers.
• Prepare reports, respond to inquiries, coordinate communication among staff, resolve program-related concerns, and contribute to budget planning.
