Job summary

Richard is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to oversee daily site construction activities, manage field personnel, uphold quality and safety, and ensure projects meet schedule and budget. The role reports to the Project Manager, and the candidate should live near Battle Creek or be willing to relocate with a housing allowance.

This position offers full‑time benefits and flexibility across shifts, with prospects to work at other project locations nationwide.

Qualifications

• 0-3 years’ experience with a general contracting company.
• Understanding of construction materials, means, methods and building systems.
• Ability to develop, implement, and comprehend RFIs, potential change orders, total project schedules, 3-week look-aheads, and other project documents.
• Ability to clearly communicate to home office, Owner, Subcontractors and experience running owner meetings.
• Availability to potentially work on any shift (1st, 2nd, or 3rd) as hospital construction occurs at all hours.
• Experience in Davis Bacon-Prevailing wage or Union projects.
• Ability to pass a background check and a drug test.
• OSHA 30 Certified.
• Desire to stay and grow with a company that will mentor, train, and educate you.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all aspects of the day-to-day field operations.
• Coordinate with project team members to maintain schedule, safety, budget and quality control.
• Plan and organize project work per contract documents.
• Monitor field productivity.
• Maintain documentation including change orders, RFIs, and submittals.
• Maintain customer relationships.
• Ensure timely and safe project completion per contract documents and budgets.
• Coordinate with Safety Manager to meet safety goals.
