Job summary

American Golf Corporation is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to oversee golf course and landscaped area maintenance under the Superintendent’s direction. You will train and supervise staff, resolve HR issues, and implement agronomic programs, with duties including on-duty supervision and course condition communication.

Qualifications include a degree in agronomy or turf management, strong communication, and proficiency in Word/Excel; pesticide license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate with co-workers and management.
• Spanish speaking communication may be required in some locations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Proven time management, organization and prioritization skills.
• Member of Golf Course Superintendent’s Association preferred.
• Licensed pesticide applicator preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Superintendent in all facets of daily operation.
• Act as Superintendent on duty in absence of Superintendent.
• Maintain course appearance and safety; diagnose agronomic issues; manage irrigation adjustments; maintain turf grasses.
• Assist in recruiting, training, scheduling, evaluating and supervising staff; coordinate safety meetings.
• Maintain maintenance records and generate required reports; track expenses and supplies.
• Perform manual labor as needed; communicate course conditions to staff and members.
• Support American Golf initiatives and programs as requested.
• Other duties may be assigned by management.
