Job summary

American Golf Corporation is seeking a Senior Assistant Superintendent to oversee golf course and landscaped area maintenance. You will support the Superintendent, train staff, and manage agronomic programs while stepping in for the Superintendent when needed.

You will lead maintenance teams, coordinate schedules, and ensure safety and quality across greens, tees, fairways, and club grounds. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and regulatory compliance experience.

Qualifications

• Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and management.
• Spanish-speaking communication may be required in some locations.
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
• Strong time-management, organization, and prioritization skills.
• Demonstrated leadership in golf course maintenance operations.
• Golf Course Superintendents Association membership preferred.
• Licenses required by regulatory agencies, including a pesticide license.
• Ability to operate golf course maintenance equipment.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Two- or four-year college degree in Agronomy, Turf Management, Horticulture, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Superintendent in all facets of daily operations.
• Act as Superintendent on duty in the absence of the Superintendent.
• Provide leadership and guidance to maintenance staff.
• Diagnose agronomic issues and manage irrigation scheduling and turf maintenance.
• Coordinate capital improvement projects and safety meetings.
• Maintain maintenance records and report expenses.
