The Fordy Group in Charleston, SC is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to join our growing commercial construction team. You will assist the Superintendent in coordinating day-to-day site activities, subcontractors, and schedules while maintaining quality and safety standards on active projects.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of construction experience on commercial projects.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• OSHA 30 and related certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Superintendent with day-to-day management of projects.
• Coordinate subcontractors, trade partners, and vendors on site.
• Maintain schedules and ensure progress per plan.
• Monitor quality, safety, and compliance on site.
• Review plans, specs, and project documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Superintendent with the day-to-day management of construction projects.
• Coordinate subcontractors, trade partners, and vendors on site.
• Help maintain project schedules and ensure work is progressing according to plan.
• Monitor quality, safety, and compliance throughout the project.
• Review plans, specifications, and project documentation.
• Assist with inspections, punch lists, and project closeout activities.
• Identify and help resolve field issues and coordinate solutions with the project team.
• Maintain strong communication with subcontractors, project management, and other stakeholders.
• Support the Superintendent in maintaining a safe, organized, and productive jobsite.

Requirements

• 2+ years of construction experience, preferably with a general contractor.
• Previous field experience on commercial construction projects.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, sequencing, and scheduling.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to coordinate multiple trades and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• OSHA 30 and relevant construction certifications are preferred.
• Degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferred but not required.
