Job summary

Dollar Tree seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development at our Winterset location. You will help with daily functions, merchandise organization, and staff training while ensuring a safe, welcoming shopping experience.

Responsibilities include opening/closing duties, loss-prevention, and maintaining clean, well-stocked stores. Part-time hours, strong communication, and a customer-focused mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform frequent walking, standing, bending, and kneeling.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns they may have.
• Assist in organizing and transferring merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and procedures including safety guidelines.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Maintain store cleanliness, including bathrooms, floors, trash, and overall presentation.
