Job summary

Family Dollar in Dallas, TX is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, enhance customer service, and develop a high-performing team.

You will assist with merchandising, scheduling, loss prevention, opening/closing, and executing corporate directives while maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming store environment. This role requires strong communication, physical stamina, and the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays' effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and procedures including safety guidelines.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Keep store clean and presentable, including restrooms and floors.
