Job summary

Family Dollar in Wellsville, OH is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with merchandise flow, help supervise store associates, and ensure a clean, safe shopping environment for customers and staff.

The role requires strong communication and organizational skills, ability to lift up to 55 lbs, and experience in retail or grocery management is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Assist in organizing and transferring merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash handling and loss prevention.
• Maintain a neat, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets including store cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Ensure cleanliness and restocking of bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, trash removal.
