Job summary

DICK'S Sporting Goods is seeking an Assistant Store Manager of Operations to lead store execution in a fast-paced retail environment. You will coach and develop teammates, optimize processes, and ensure a high-level athlete experience across front and back-of-house operations.

You will partner with the Store Manager to plan and implement staffing, training, and performance initiatives that drive growth and consistency.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
1-3 years experience in retail management or customer-focused roles.
1-3 years of retail management experience (or customer-focused experience).

Responsibilities

Collaborates with the Store Manager to develop and execute annual business growth plans, forecast, and plan 90+ days out; support strategies for long-term success and programs (e.g., BOPIS, ship-from-store).
Directly manages a team of Captains (Supervisors) and influences broader store team through coaching and development; accountable for performance reviews and staffing decisions.
Upholds merchandising and presentation standards; executes floor sets, signage, price changes, inventory presentation, replenishment; drives loyalty programs and sales initiatives; models exceptional athlete experiences.
Leads and validates training initiatives; ensures teammates are trained to deliver elevated experiences; develops growth plans with teammates.
Manages store workforce long-term with Store Manager; approves Captain staffing; oversees payroll and scheduling to meet budgets and traffic patterns.
Hires and builds strong teams; drives targeted recruiting and interviewing; makes hiring/termination decisions for hourly staff; coaches on interviewing and team-building.
