Job summary

DICK'S Sporting Goods is hiring an Assistant Store Manager of Operations to lead day-to-day store execution, coaching a Captain (Supervisor) team, and driving efficient processes to maximize the athlete experience.

In a fast-paced retail setting, you will oversee staffing, scheduling, and payroll in collaboration with the Store Manager, while ensuring compliance with company policies and high standards of service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1-3 years of experience in a similar role.
• 1-3 years of retail management experience or customer-focused leadership.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Store Manager to develop and execute annual business plans and 90+ day forecasts.
• Directly manage Captains (Supervisors) and coach the broader store team for performance and development.
• Uphold merchandising standards, floor sets, signage, pricing, inventory, replenishment, and customer service excellence.
• Lead and validate training initiatives; ensure teammates are trained and equipped to deliver exceptional athlete experiences.
• Partner with Store Manager on staff planning, payroll, and scheduling aligned to budget and traffic trends.
• Hire and build strong teams, make hiring decisions for Captain (Supervisor) roles, and coach on interviewing and onboarding.
• Enforce safety, loss prevention, policies, and create an inclusive store environment.
