Job summary

Family Dollar in Grants, NM is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help oversee daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will support opening/closing, merchandise flow, and compliance with corporate directives while ensuring a clean, well-stocked, and inviting store floor.

This part-time role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, strong communication, and the ability to lift up to 55 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform common physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise and loss prevention
• Maintain a well-stocked and organized store environment
• Protect and secure all store assets, including cash
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures and train staff
• Supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff
• Ensure store cleanliness and housekeeping
• Other duties as assigned*
