Job summary

Family Dollar in Albuquerque, NM is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service and team development. The role covers daily store activities, assisting with merchandising, opening and closing procedures, and ensuring a positive, safe environment for customers and associates.

This part-time position emphasizes leadership, training, loss prevention, and adherence to corporate directives while maintaining clean, well-stocked floors and organized stockrooms.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and meet physical demands.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, cash deposits/receipts), and loss prevention.
• Maintain store areas including a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure staff follow company policies and procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, bathrooms, floors, trash removal, and overall neatness.
• Other duties as assigned.
