Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores in Elkin, NC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help oversee daily store operations, assist customers, and develop a high-performing team. You will support opening/closing, merchandising, and loss prevention to maintain store standards.

The role emphasizes people development, training, scheduling, and ensuring a safe, friendly shopping environment, with opportunities to contribute to promotional execution and inventory control.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Assist in organizing merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and company policies.
• Help supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment.
• Ensure store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, and waste management.
• Other duties as assigned.
