Job summary

Dollar Tree, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to join our team in a fast-paced retail setting. You will support store operations, customer service, and team development to ensure smooth daily activity and a positive customer experience.

The role involves merchandising, staff coaching, adherence to corporate directives, and maintaining safe, organized store areas. This position is full-time and onsite, with opportunities for growth within a nationwide retailer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, and bending.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Excellent customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and related communications.
• Maintain store fixtures and displays’ promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, and keeping records (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits).
• Keep store areas clean, stocked, and organized to company standards.
• Protect store assets, including cash, and follow safety policies.
• Support Store Manager in training and development of associates.
• Maintain a safe, respectful environment with professional customer interactions.
