Job summary

Family Dollar in Joliet, IL is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day store activities and help maintain a well-stocked, clean, and welcoming store environment.

You will supervise, train, and develop Store Associates, handle opening/closing procedures, prepare reports, and ensure compliance with policies while maintaining a positive customer experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks in a retail setting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store activities communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
